Most of the environmental studies now are based on satellite imagery. Telematics applications for recognition of geological structures and to stimulate production of derived information were developed by CGDS (http://www.ednes.org/CGDS) in Moscow under the collaboration with Institute of the Physics of the Earth, Paris (IPG Paris). Another item is mentioned above the CEO Programme (Centre for Earth Observation), which is a European initiative to encourage the wider use of information generated by Earth Observation (EO) satellites; “Demonstration Case Studies”, developed by CEO Project,  serve to illustrate the wide range of information that can be derived from EO.
